Any conventional (unshielded) power cord emits a 50Hz mains hum field together with a broad spectrum of mains-borne distortion, and also acts as an antenna capable of receiving RF interference. Ideally therefore, unshielded cables should not be used in high quality audio or AV systems, especially in the proximity of signal cables.

The answer to this problem is provided by the range of KE fully shielded AC power cables. Two types are available: Lo-Power - for source components, digital equipment, preamps etc., and Hi-Power - for power amps etc. The Lo-Power cord is of very sophisticated design; conductors are internally shielded by a ferrite socket, and double shielded externally with foil and a braided metal sleeve. The KE Hi-Power cord is designed for use with equipment having a high current requirement, such as power amplifiers. Its construction is similar to the Lo-Power type but with a diameter of 5 sq. mm and considerably higher current transmission capacity.

The KE Power cords should always be connected to an earthed mains outlet to get the full benefits of their unique properties. The KE-LO POWER CORD is a very advanced power cord. All the veins are shielded with a socket of ferrite. The outside mantle is double shielded by a foil and a braided thimble. The quality of the shield is more than 80 dB in the frequency range between 10 kHz and 100 MHZ! In the power plug, a coil and capacitors are integrated and through these means the KE-LO POWER CORD works as an mains filter! The range from the filtering is until 30 dB with 1 MHz. We recommend you to use the KE-LO POWER CORD all of your equipment (e.g. digital apparatus, turntable (!), pre amplifier, elektrostaten, cassette player, tuner, television and video equipment). The power amplifier has to be connected with the KE-HI POWER CORD. When the KE-LO POWER CORD is to long, we recommend you to make a loop at the beginning of the cord, also, it should always be kept as far away as possible from other signal cables.
