Glasshouse Passive Pre-amplifier No.1 kit (without attenuator)
[GH-pas]
£192.00
by Colin Kennedy Date Added: Tuesday 03 October, 2006
Have now had the Glasshouse Passive Pre in my system for 3 days and have

become a convert to the design. The pre amp is well put together and

considering the price and being a kit does not look out of place with my

Graaf and Notts Analogue deck.Neither does it perform below this league of

partnering equipment either. It punches well above its weight and on first

listening resulted in one of those days where you revisit your cd collection

to hear as much as you can.Simple acoustic music is detailed and the

background silent, amazingly silent and all those stories about passives

lacking dynamics well I can't detect any loss in dynamics and the soundstage

is as good if not better. It really lets you hear what the rest of your system

is doing ,luckily it seems up to it.But even with some really heavy rock it

still performed superbly well. This little amp or as my wife called it "cute"

is definitely a first class component and at the price a real bargain.

This small amp has replaced about £1200 worth ( 8years ago) of pre amp and I

doubt if it will be replaced for a long time.If you are looking for a simple

pre with no remote ,flashing lights or chrome but one that will just let you

hear the music this is it.A true audiophile bargain.
