You have two options on how to solder up the valve base:
1. Prior to fitting, attach flying leads to the valve base, threading the wire through the appropriately marked 2.5mm diameter hole. Cut to the right length and solder up. 2. The board can be supplied with the silver plated turret tags fitted. On the underside wire up the valve base pins to the appropriate turret tag. Now the board can be fitted and easily wired up.

Merits of Glasshouse boards:

• The performance of a component is affected by vibrations from external factors, such as transformers, transient vibration from the surroundings - speakers and poor housing, the more the vibration the worst the sound.
  Glasshouse boards are all made of 3.2mm thick FR4 material (PCB material), providing an extremely rigid home for components, offering very low overall resonance. As a result using Glasshouse boards is acoustically the best way to hold components within a pre-amplifier/amplifier/speaker.
• Glasshouse turret tags are all 99.99% silver plated to a thickness of 40 microns, providing the best sounding link points you can get. Each turret tag has a central bore hole of 1.5mm, so you can pass wire through the tag. The main shaft has 3 sections, 2 x 1.6mm cylinders and 1 x 1.5mm ridge for direct soldering. The underside of the tag can be solder to directly as well.
