Air-core coils are, for physical reasons,
unbeatable as far as accurate pulse reproduction
and freedom from distortion are
concerned. For this reason, for all the purists,
we stock air cored coils with wire diameters
of up to 3.0mm. It is also possible in this way
to create greater inductances with relatively
low internal resistance without huge expenses.
the following tables provide the specification of the 8 types of air-coil coils, the difference being the diameter of wire.
L50 - wire Ø 0.50mm
L71 - wire Ø 0.71mm
L100 - wire Ø 1.00mm
L125 - wire Ø 1.25mm
L140 - wire Ø 1.40mm

Using a strand of seven self-bonding wires
markedly enlarges the wire surface compared
to that of a round wire coil from solid
material. This results in better conductivity
(skin effect) with higher frequency. Indeed
with these coils the ratio between wire diameter
and wire surface area is not as beneficial as that of foil coils, but on the other
hand with stranded wire it is much easier to
create precise reel forms. Self-bonding wires
and coil shells together form a reel of high
mechanical stability and stillness.
The acoustic properties of this type of coil
will be particularly praised and adored by
our customers, as it musically cultivates
loudspeaker drive units prone to produce
sharp or hard tones without having a negative
impact

Our air-core coils made from silver/gold
wire are made for those audio enthusiasts
for whom even the slightest hint of a tiny
signal detail is reason enough to spend,
without compromise, the necessary for an
upgrade. Furthermore, with this coil we harmonise
our silver/gold components – silver/
gold speaker cable, silver/gold internal
wiring and Supreme silver/gold capacitors
– to achieve a homogenous chain of fascinatingly
authentic musicality over which the
words are silver, however silence remains
golden…listen for yourself!
Silver/gold wire is made of pure silver
mixed with 1% if high-purity gold. The gold
modifi es the crystalline structure of the silver
and maximises its very good electrical conductivity.
