Introduction

Audio Note have always made the best DAC's on the market, all the way up to their £30,000 DAC 5 series. Here is your chance to incorporate their 1 x oversampling™ direct-from-disc™ technology into your own system at an introductory level. The DAC Kit 1.1 is capable of competing with other manufacturers' DAC’s of many times the price. This is also one of the easiest kits to build and comes with a pre-built digital board to ensure first time build success.
The DAC Kit 1.1 is available in a number of configurations - including a large chassis version to ease the upgrade to version 2.1.

The DAC kit 1.1 boasts the following:
- Utilises the well proven Crystal CS8412CP input receiver.
- The DAC chip is the Analog Devices 20 bit AD1865N.
- The tube output stage uses a single 12AU7A / ECC82 as a common cathode amplifier which provides voltage gain to allow the DAC Kit 1.1 to be used with any active preamplifier,and some passive preamplifiers.
- Standard kit housed in a full sized steel chassis (29.85cm (11.75") Width x 13.35cm (5.25") Height x 40cm (15.75") Depth) finished in black textured powder coat.
- Larger DAC 2.1 chassis available as a option (38.1cm (15") Width x 14.6cm (5.75") Height x 40.64cm (16") Depth) finished in black textured powder coat.
- A 0.477cm (3/16") brushed aluminum face plate, anodized natural colour, with a satin finish.
- shipped with a pre-assembled and tested digital PCB, and all other parts required to complete the kit.

DAC Kit 1.1 - STANDARD (SMALL CHASSIS): Contains all the necessary components to build this first class DAC. Please enquire about available upgrades.
Price (1off) - £435.00 + vat + carriage
DAC Kit 1.1 - STANDARD (LARGE CHASSIS): This is essentially the same as the small chassis version. However, the larger chassis makes it a more cost-effective, and easier option if you intend to upgrade it to a version 2.1 model at some time in the future.
