Burson Audio has been developing high-performance op-amps for over 20 years, and we’re now offering three of their latest models, in both single and dual variants.
The V7 Vivid is designed for maximum transparency and precision. It delivers a clean, neutral sound with fast transients and extended detail, making it ideal for electronic, pop, and rock genres where clarity and energy are essential. It also expands the soundstage, offering greater separation and spatial definition.
In contrast, the V7 Classic focuses on warmth and musicality. It introduces a smoother character, particularly through the midrange, enhancing the richness of vocals and acoustic instruments. This makes it well-suited for jazz, classical, and acoustic recordings, or for systems that benefit from a more relaxed, less analytical sound.
Some users choose to combine both models—using the Vivid for high detail and the Classic for tonal warmth. For optimal performance, it’s important to use the same model within each output stage.
Finally, the V5i is a hybrid opamp that merges IC design with discrete elements. Compact and compatible with standard DIP8 sockets, it retains the sonic signature of Burson’s fully discrete V5—offering low noise, high bandwidth, and a transparent, dynamic sound.
