TAKMAN, Japan, developed a truly superior carbon film resistor specifically for audio with their REX range, available in 0.25W, 0.5W and 1W ratings.
However, production of the original REX range ceased in 2020. We still carry some stock of the original REX resistors, as shown in the shop.
We are proud to be the first global specialist in Hi-Fi components to have the full E-24 range of the all-new 0.25W REXII (version 2) in stock. The new 0.5W is on order, and we are hoping to receive the first consignment in May 2026.
The Takman REXⅡ carbon film resistor for audio equipment, known as “The Pink,” is designed to deliver pure, high-quality sound. It features a highly pure ceramic base material, a high-purity carbon resistor element, brass end caps, and non-oxygen copper lead wires. Non-magnetic materials are carefully selected throughout the construction to minimise unwanted sonic effects.
The external coating uses a specialised paint designed to reduce vibration-induced impact, helping preserve signal integrity. This is the big improvement of the original REX version. Resistance values are adjusted via a short spiral-trimming process to minimise inductance. This second-generation REXⅡ design is produced with carefully selected, higher-grade base materials to deliver improved audio performance.
