We now offer a ladder-type of stepped attenuator as an alternative to the shunt series type of stepped attenuator. This is where two resistors and switch contacts are used per step, making up a unique combination of resistors per step that adds up to the impedance of the stepped attenuator you use. Effectively a voltage divider network.

We offer a stereo and mono version built on either the Blore Edwards or Seiden, 2 pole 23 way or the Elma 2 pole 24-way switch for the MONO version. The options on the resistors used are either the Takman metal film or carbon film resistors in 0.25W or 0.5W ratings. 10K, 20K, 50K, 100K and 250K are available. Built-up or in kit form. Although a higher price and a higher resistor count than the Shunt type, the ladder type provide a constant impedance throughout the entire volume range. The downside is you have to use another switch contact.

PRICE (1 off) excluding VAT+P&P
10K, 20K, 50K, 100K, 250K

As part of the kit version, we supply 0.25m of 1mm HGC pure silver wire, 0.15m of 1mm PTFE and 2m of Mundorf 3.8% silver/gold solder.

We do offer the stereo version too.

We cannot supply the Takman Carbon 0.25W and 0.5W 100K versions.
