Viawave Audio SRT-7 (8 ohm) Sealed Ribbon Tweeter

The ribbon tweeter with SRT membrane has a flat flange with a 104 mm diameter and an 8-ohm impedance. The SRT-7 tweeter is based on the GRT-145-8 tweeter. The SRT -7 rear chamber design is modified to achieve the smoothest frequency response in its operating range.

The SRT-7 uses patented technology to seal the air gap between the ribbon and the magnet poles. Developed by Viawave Audio, this technology is called SRT - the sealed ribbon tweeter. A U-shaped suspension made of heat-resistant polymer film blocks the gap.

SRT technology radically reduces the tweeter's nonlinear distortion and lets it operate at lower frequencies while maintaining the transparency of ribbon speakers' sound. By combining SRT technology and a powerful magnetic system, a unique sensitivity was achieved for a ribbon of 7 cm2 - 95 dB/W/m in the 4 - 18 kHz range.

The tweeter's rear chamber is filled with a set of felt plates of a specific shape. This filling method provides very high repeatability of the tweeter's parameters. Terminals are gold-plated M4 threads with 2 x gold-plated nuts.
