Hi guys. I'm making up some cables, link cables, that go on the back of the speakers, joining the bass to the treble. So, yeah, one wire coming in, and then it links up. Here we have a Lexus cable here, just a short length, with bananas on the end. These are Audio Note ones. These are actually going to be used in an AN-E, and the actual connections at the back are recessed, so there isn't a lot of room to play with. Now, also, the posts that are used in AN-Es are 8 mm diameter, so you have to use an 8 mm spade like this.

But what I really wanted to show you was that, you know, when you've got a product like this that can be used for soldering, but also for crimping, you need a lot of force to get these guys to bend. You cannot use the likes of this. Well, firstly because it doesn't go over, but also, with the crimping pliers, you really have to put it in. So I'm using a vice, okay? This is a ViaBlue cable end sleeve that's onto a cleaned wire ending. If you know the Lexus, it's Litz, so it has to go through a solder bath. So, in there like this, okay? Just be aware you are going to have bite marks because the vice needs to hold it. So you can see how there's a half there.

You want to get just one half in, okay? Make sure there's adequate on the end, and then get the cable in. You just want it coming down on—not on the plastic bit—and then slowly just put it in like that. You can see it bending there. It's got a squeeze on it. So I'm going to take it out. See, that's got a squeeze on it now, but now that's got to come over. So I'm going to give it a squish this way. So I'll bring that arm over like that. You can see it's closing there. Trying to get all this force using hand kind of pliers is going to be a nightmare. So that's really tight. And then one last one where you're basically pushing that one on top. Same down on that. Oops. That's it. Done.

That is pretty solid. You'll never get that out. So you can see the wire's all in there. You could solder this, but what's the point? The contact is superb. So these are the Furutechs. Don't know if I mentioned it before: FP-203, available in gold-plated or rhodium-plated. So that's how you do it.
