Hi guys — Nick from Hi-Fi Collective here.

As you can see, there’s quite a lot of gear in front of us. These are all the new bits and pieces we’ve brought in over the last couple of months, so let’s start with the biggest item.

First up — Elekit. We love Elekit, and they’ve released a brand-new amplifier: the TU-8185. This replaces the TU-8100. The new version comes in black and uses a different valve design, delivering around two watts of output.

I’ve been using it with my Tannoy Celestion 44 speakers down there, and it produces surprisingly good volume. A lovely little amp.

Next — Cardas, always very popular with our customers.

We’ve brought in their Crosslink cables. There’s a speaker cable version — the 1S — which has already completely sold out, so I can’t show you that one today, but more stock is coming soon.

What we do have here is the Crosslink 1L interconnect, which has been proving extremely popular.

While we’re talking about cables, let’s move on to ViaBlue.

We wanted to offer a higher-spec option for mains wiring, so we’ve added the X-40 wire. This is a heavy-gauge, multi-strand silver-plated copper cable available in brown and blue.

Interestingly, the green/yellow earth conductor is tinned copper rather than silver-plated, but it’s still high-quality copper throughout. A great choice if you’re wiring up mains projects.

Now onto Viborg.

They’re a Chinese manufacturer but the quality is outstanding, and the range has been incredibly popular — so we’ve expanded it.

This is from the VM04 series, an American-style IEC inlet socket available in rhodium, gold, and pure copper plating. Rated at 15 amp, 125 volts, with multi-layer plating on the premium versions.

If we look at the rear connections, you can see the clamping system used for the wiring.

While I’ve got this open, let me introduce the VP201-AG pure silver connectors. These are mini spade connectors — you feed the wire through the hole and solder or crimp it in place. Silver is quite soft, so both methods work well.

They fit perfectly into these terminal clamps, giving a very secure connection. You can simply split the wire strands, but this provides a much cleaner and more reliable solution.

These come supplied with mounting screws and are beautifully made.

Furutech also make similar solutions for mains connections.

Staying with Viborg, we now have their brown IEC sockets, available in gold, silver, and rhodium plating — the VF106 series.

We’ve also added the D5 male DIN connector, ideal for turntable applications. Excellent quality — we’ve had no issues at all with Viborg products.

Here’s another pure silver fork-style connector using a similar clamping principle.

Moving on to Neotech.

They’ve introduced a more affordable range of mains plugs. This is the VCP-503 IEC connector, alongside the US P513 and the Schuko P512 versions. These are gold-plated and offer excellent value for money.

Back to Viborg again — their new RCA plugs.

These are fantastic value. We have OFC copper, silver-plated, gold-plated, and rhodium versions. They’re heavy-duty, beautifully machined, and accept cable diameters up to 8.5 mm.

Signal is soldered internally, with the ground connection soldered underneath the shell — very solid construction.

Next up — something we’ve been waiting years for.

The Takman REYII carbon resistors, quarter-watt versions, are finally available again. They’ve resolved previous manufacturing issues, and although slightly more expensive now, they’re absolutely worth it.

This means we can once again offer the full range for stepped attenuators. Half-watt carbons are coming next, followed by quarter-watt metals and then half-watt metals. Give it about six months and availability should be fully restored.

A bit of a new direction for us — the London Decca Maroon Type II stereo cartridge.

We don’t normally sell cartridges, but these sound incredibly lively and dynamic. Definitely worth a listen if you’re exploring moving-coil designs.

From Jupiter, we now have a new internal wiring option: 26 AWG 5N silver wire in cotton insulation. With silver prices rising rapidly, this offers a sensible balance of performance and cost — perfect for signal wiring inside equipment.

Back to ViaBlue again — we’ve added three versions of their 5-pin DIN SME tonearm plugs.

These are gold-plated copper connectors available in different orientations, including left-handed configurations depending on the pin semicircle orientation.

And finally, a practical addition: a low-cost 2-pole, 6-way rotary switch. If you don’t want to spend Elma or Seiden money, this works extremely well for many DIY applications.

I think that’s everything… apart from Johnny’s new haircut — I’m clearly trying to smarten up my act.

Keep it DIYing — and see you next time!
