Seas W16NX001 Woofer, E0049-04 - Excel Series
From the Seas Excel range we have this highly regarded 6-inch mid/bass unit. Precision cast and surface treated magnesium cone and unique radial reinforced rubber surround, which produces tremendous bass precision and midrange detail with no sign of edge resonance. This is the 4-ohm version. A larger than normal magnet is used, providing a good sensitivity and transient response, whilst the copper top and bottom plates and phase plug, improve heat conduction away from the pole piece. Heavy copper rings mounted above and below the T-shaped pole piece reduce non-linear and modulation distortion and increase the overload margin.
As with all the Excel range, the W16NX001 also utilizes an extremely stiff and stable injection molded metal basket, which keeps all the critical components in perfect alignment. Whilst the large windows in the basket, above and below the basket, reduce sound reflection, air flow noise, and cavity resonance to a minimum.
